An awesome lady, Oma, Agreed to share her thoughts concerning this topic and I added a couple of other things. Sit back and be blessed!
The summary of it all is that God wanted man to live as he initially intended, before sin came into the world, through disobedience and so something had to be done about that.
Sin was introduced into the world by Adam and Eve’s disobedience and rebellion against God’s command. By succumbing to the attempts of the serpent, who was and is the symbol of evil and sin in the world (Gen 3: 1-13). This disobedience made them impure, sinful and ultimately led to their banishment from the presence of God, as well as a life of suffering and death (Gen 3:16-19).
The punishment for sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). and Man had sin. Man definitely had to pay for his sins right? Cause God must execute judgment; If he didn’t, then he wouldn’t be a just God.
God created the world to be a good and perfect place with constant communion with humans. But that relationship was destroyed because of sin, hence, man lost peace with God.
Someone had to die and so he sent Jesus to take the place of the whole world and die. That way, you are no longer A sinner and Justice is served.God had made covenant promises with Abraham, the people of Israel and King David that He will raise a King from their line and tribe that will atone for the sins of mankind and restore the relationship between God and man.
This King had to be born without the stain of original sin (1Peter 2:22, 2 Cor 5:21, Luke 1:35,1 John 3:5), God’s own son. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16).
Jesus Christ was God’s new and appropriate sacrifice to atone for our sins and reconcile us to Him. “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). Jesus Christ made us pure again.
Even though man had sin and had to be punished, God still showed us mercy and out of compassion, he sent Jesus to take YOUR place. Jesus died for you, now, you are righteous before God because your sins has been bloated out. When he rose on the third day, you rose with him. Those are God’s intention. As long as you believe, just like Jesus, physical death wouldn’t be your end but you’ll receive the holy spirit and then whether you leave this earth or Jesus comes again, You’ll live forever.
I hope this post blessed you.
